I think the writer forgot Claudia Schiffer. Although she quit modeling sooner than the other original supermodels, she was everywhere (between 1988 till approx 1996) and was very highly regarded by the couture houses.

It is interesting that given the hundreds of “beautiful” women in Films and Hollywood, the most desirable woman according to a 2000 poll, and the woman that the majority of men would want to be with, was Sally fields!
