Best Hair Growth Oils, According to Experts
1. Mielle Rosemary Mint Oil
The beauty world is buzzing about Mielle Rosemary Mint Growth Oil, and it’s not just because of its wallet-friendly price tag. Women’s Health reports that this viral sensation has racked up over 48,000 five-star Amazon reviews and earned a dedicated TikTok following, along with dermatologist Lindsey Zubritskey’s professional stamp of approval.
What makes this formula stand out is its powerhouse blend of over 30 essential oils and extracts, with biotin and rosemary leading the charge. According to People, while the product specifically targets type 3A to 4C hair types, its anti-inflammatory properties make it a universal solution for anyone dealing with scalp issues or seeking stronger, healthier strands.
According to Prevention, this affordable phenomenon has become an Amazon bestseller, proving that effective hair care doesn’t need to break the bank. The versatile formula works well with protective styles like braids and weaves, and it’s gentle enough for daily use – making it a practical choice for anyone embarking on their hair growth journey, regardless of their styling routine.
2. Vegamour GRO Hair Serum
If you’re ready to invest in serious hair growth, Vegamour’s GRO Hair Serum has caught the attention of both celebrities and everyday users alike. Cosmopolitan breaks down the science, explaining that while oils alone don’t stimulate growth, this serum creates optimal conditions with ingredients like caffeine that counteract DHT, the hormone responsible for hair loss. Plus, it’s safe for color-treated hair and works effectively as a targeted spot treatment.
The formula’s power lies in its unique blend of ingredients, including turmeric, biotin, and proprietary mung bean and red clover extracts. Yahoo reports impressive results from real users, with some showing complete regrowth in previously bald areas. The product has even won over A-listers like Nicole Kidman (a brand ambassador), Bella Hadid, and Mandy Moore.
Who What Wear says that unlike traditional hair oils, this plant-based serum has a lighter texture but packs just as much punch. Its vegan phyto-actives work to balance the scalp environment and revitalize hair from the root up, though patience is key – you’ll need to wait three to four months of consistent use to see full results.
3. The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density
The Ordinary continues its reputation for effective, no-frills formulations with a hair serum that’s generating impressive before-and-after results online. People details the science behind the magic: a powerful combination of Redensyl™ for awakening dormant follicles, Procapil™ for enhancing scalp circulation, and Baicapil™ for boosting growth and density.
For those concerned about ingredient quality, Marie Claire says how this vegan, silicone-free formula takes a natural approach. Instead of synthetic materials, it relies on beneficial ingredients like caffeine and extracts from Camellia Sinensis Leaf and Larix Europaea Wood. The application is straightforward – just a few drops on your scalp before bedtime, either all over or targeted to sparse areas.
Dermatologist Dr. Marisa Garshick tells Elle that the formula’s strength lies in its comprehensive approach to hair health. Beyond its peptide base, it incorporates antioxidants, vitamins, and humectants, while ingredients like castor oil provide ricinoleic acid to boost scalp circulation. The addition of caffeine isn’t just for show – laboratory studies suggest it supports healthy hair growth through its antioxidant properties.
4. Ceremonia Aceite de Moska Pre-Shampoo Scalp & Hair Oil
Meet your scalp’s new best friend: Ceremonia’s Aceite de Moska, a pre-shampoo treatment that’s revolutionizing the hair care game. Coveteur breaks down how this innovative formula combines aloe vera, castor oil, and passion fruit oil to create a triple threat that exfoliates, hydrates, and soothes your scalp all at once.
Unlike traditional hair oils that stay in your strands, Women’s Health explains that this treatment works its magic before you shampoo, targeting the root cause of hair issues by clearing away scalp buildup that can lead to flaking and itchiness. The application process is simple but effective: massage two to three full droppers into your scalp and let it work for 15 minutes, or leave it overnight for an intensive treatment.
Elle emphasizes the connection between a healthy scalp and vibrant hair growth, recommending pairing the oil with Ceremonia’s scalp massager for the ultimate detox experience. It’s a perfect example of how addressing scalp health can transform your entire hair care routine, tackling everything from dryness to flakes while promoting stronger, healthier growth.
5. Briogeo B. Well Organic + Cold-Pressed 100% Castor Oil
Meet the multitasking marvel that’s been a natural beauty secret for generations – Briogeo’s pure castor oil. Good Housekeeping confirms what traditional wellness enthusiasts have long known: this versatile oil doesn’t just hydrate, it helps strengthen and soften hair strands while fighting inflammation.
Marie Claire highlights what sets this formula apart – it’s cold-pressed to preserve the nutrients from the harvested seeds, making it potent enough for multiple uses. Whether you’re looking to boost your brows, lengthen lashes, or give your scalp some TLC, this concentrated oil delivers results across all hair types.
According to Prevention, this 100% pure, organic formula goes beyond just hair care to promote overall skin health. Free from phalates and parabens, and completely vegan, it’s a clean beauty lover’s dream that proves sometimes the simplest ingredients are the most effective. It’s essentially a head-to-toe treatment that brings the power of traditional beauty wisdom into your modern routine.
6. The Mane Choice The Alpha Multi-Vitamin Scalp Growth Oil
This oil is not advertised specifically for hair growth, but focuses mostly on scalp health and revitalization, which will improve overall hair quality. Marie Claire loves its impressive natural lineup, including soybean oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, rice bran extract, tea tree oil, and sage leaf extract – all while staying free of parabens and sulfates. Despite its rich formulation, it manages to nourish without leaving that dreaded greasy residue.
According to Prevention, the lightweight blend of rosemary oil, castor oil, and biotin makes it gentle enough for daily use, with reviewers praising how it soothes their scalps and leaves their hair soft and sleek. It’s a perfect post-wash treatment that lets you reap the benefits of these premium ingredients at a surprisingly affordable price point.
For those with low porosity hair that struggles to retain moisture, Yahoo points out that this heavier formula might be exactly what you need. The castor oil base helps lock in hydration and prevent breakage, though fine-haired folks might prefer mixing a few drops into their shampoo or conditioner for a lighter application. It’s proof that sometimes the best hair care solutions don’t need to come with a luxury price tag.
7. Wild Growth Hair Oil
Since its 1985 debut in Chicago’s African American community, Wild Growth Hair Oil has evolved into a cult-favorite Amazon sensation. Who What Wear points out its impressive blend of natural strengthening oils, including coconut, olive, jojoba, rose hip, sesame seed, lavender, and peppermint, which work together to not only promote growth but also detangle and condition dry strands.
According to Women’s Health, just a few drops used one to three times weekly means a single four-ounce bottle lasts surprisingly long. The versatile formula can be mixed into shampoo, incorporated into hot oil treatments, added to co-washes, or applied solo after washing. For those who find the original formula too rich, there’s also a lighter version perfect for fine hair or acne-prone scalps.
People says this budget-friendly multitasker goes beyond just encouraging new growth. It also reduces blow-drying time and detangles effectively, all while requiring minimal product per use. It’s a rare find that proves you don’t need to spend big to get impressive results – just be strategic with those drops since a little goes a very long way.
How do hair growth oils work?
Hair loss can feel like a tangled mess, but before you resign yourself to a life of thinning strands, consider the power of nature’s secret weapon: hair growth oils. These potent potions, infused with the essence of botanicals and essential oils, hold the potential to unlock the door to thicker, healthier locks. But how do these liquid alchemists work their magic? Let’s untangle the science behind hair growth oils and pave the way for a flourishing mane.
Nourishing the Roots:
Think of your scalp as fertile soil, and each hair follicle a tiny seed yearning for nourishment. Hair growth oils step in as nature’s fertilizer, delivering a cocktail of beneficial ingredients directly to the root. These ingredients can include:
- Fatty acids: Found in oils like coconut and avocado, they provide essential moisture and strengthen the hair shaft.
- Antioxidants: Powerhouses like argan oil and rosemary oil combat free radical damage, keeping hair follicles healthy and promoting growth.
- Stimulants: Peppermint oil and ginger, for example, can increase blood circulation to the scalp, delivering vital nutrients and oxygen to hair follicles.
Beyond the Scalp:
Hair growth oils aren’t just scalp superstars; they work their magic throughout the hair shaft too. By sealing the hair cuticle, they prevent moisture loss and breakage, leading to stronger, healthier strands. Additionally, some oils like jojoba oil closely mimic the scalp’s natural sebum, further promoting balance and preventing dryness.
The Key to Boosting Hair Growth:
Consistency is key when it comes to harnessing the power of hair growth oils. Regular scalp massages with your chosen oil – think two to three times a week – will ensure the ingredients penetrate deep into the follicles. Remember, patience is a virtue when it comes to hair growth; most oils take several months to show noticeable results.

Did those injections help with hair growth?
I appreciate good information, and all of this sounds good. You can’t go wrong with using oils on people of color hair.
Are there any good formulas that do not use coconut or almond products? I am allergic to both.
Why do people think that oils can penetrate several layers of the dermis to reach to follicle??? All fake stuff. You will have to use a pin roller with a specific needle size to create depressions for any topical to penetrate…..Same for shampoos! All will probably reach one layer through pores but not the follicle which is a highly vascularized area! I am working on research for hairloss since the 90!
I can swear by Wild Growth Hair Oil. I have used it over a period of time.
My hair has grown longer
It’s thicker and stronger.
Softer and looks healthier.
Noticeably beautiful at my age of 52

How much is the product where do they sell the product
Well, I have been using Hollywood Hair Bar since it opened 3 years now; and it states your hair will start growing in 1 to 2 weeks and it has. My hair was brittle due to medicine. I buy 2 to 4 bottles every month. Please look at the reviews! It’s for all cultures. It’s incredible. I did my research before purchasing

Picture or a link of each product would be much more useful.
Every picture and video on every news network website is an advertisement, or begins with a commercial ad. Even the list of products here were cherry picked from other news sources, as A.I. most likely generated this entire story automatically. . . That’s the only way to “keep Up With The Kardashians” I guess.
None of these products have been proven to be nearly as effective as minoxidil (Rogaine) in any peer reviewed double blind clinical trial.
“Better” snake oil is still snake oil.
Minoxodil is the best. I’ve tried all oils for months without any success.
